Burro Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the MYBURRO INC service (Alternate business name Burro) (“Burro,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our websites (such as myburro.com) and SMS/MMS/RCS messaging services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Overview of the Service
Burro provides non-emergency, opt-in local information by text message, such as:
- Trash, recycling, and bulk pickup reminders
- Town meetings and community notices
- Local events and kids & family programs
Burro is not an emergency notification system and should not be relied on for emergency alerts. For emergencies, call 911 or follow your local authorities’ guidance.
Your use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy
2. Eligibility
You must be:
- A resident of the United States; and
- At least 18 years old, or using the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. SMS/MMS/RCS Messaging Program
3.1 Opt-In
You may sign up for Burro messages by:
- Scanning a QR code or using a link that launches a pre-filled text to our number, and sending that message; or
- Following other clearly described opt-in methods we provide.
By opting in, you confirm that you are the owner or regular user of the mobile number provided and you consent to receive recurring, non-emergency text messages from Burro at that number.
3.2 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your selected preferences and town activity, but generally will not exceed:
- Up to 8 messages per month per subscriber (including civic alerts and any local deals, if enabled in your town).
We may temporarily exceed this if there are unusual civic circumstances, but we will strive to keep messages reasonable and relevant and you may update preferences at any time by sending the text message PREF to us.
3.3 Fees
Burro does not charge you for messages, but message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. Burro is not responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier.
3.4 Opt-Out
You can opt out at any time:
- Reply STOP to any Burro message to unsubscribe.
You may receive a confirmation message after you opt out. After that, you should no longer receive messages, unless you opt in again.
3.5 Help

4. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when signing up.
- Only use a phone number that you own or control.
- Notify us if you change or deactivate your mobile number.
- Not use the Services for any unlawful, abusive, or disruptive purpose.
You are responsible for any activity conducted through your phone number.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, logos, designs, and other materials provided through the Services are owned by Burro or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Services without our prior written consent.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BURRO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that:
- The Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
- Messages will always be delivered or delivered in a particular timeframe; or
- The information provided will always be complete or up to date, although we strive for accuracy and timeliness.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BURRO AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.
8. Changes to the Services and These Terms
We may update or modify the Services and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice as appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
